"Cadfan"

The affix ' Cadfan ' was chosen because our local church is Saint Cadfan's, a very old and historic church which contains what is believed to be the earliest example of written Welsh.

St. Cadfan's Church

With Saint Bernards being "Saints" and being bred originally by the monks of the St. Bernard abbey, I thought it appropriate to keep the religious connection.

In Welsh, a single " f " is pronounced as a " v " ( two f's are pronounced as f) so "Cadfan" is pronounced "Cadvan"
